Kapalua Hawaii Facts and Information:

Kapalua Villas aerial view

Kapalua Resort has five beaches in beautiful bays: Kapalua Bay, D.T. Fleming Beach, Oneloa Bay, Mokule'ia Bay and Honolua Bay. Kapalua Bay has been voted "Best Beach in the World" by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler Magazine, "America's Best Beach" on the very first annual list of Dr. Beach's Top 10 Beaches in America, and the "Best Beach in America" by The Travel Channel, among other honors. During the plantation era, Kapalua Bay was previously known as Fleming Beach, but was renamed when the Kapalua Resort was built. Another site about half a mile to the north was then renamed D.T. Fleming Beach from Honokahua Bay, to keep the tribute to namesake David T. Fleming, beloved Honolua Plantation manager of the area.

From the summit of the mountains at Pu'u Kukui to the Bays of Pi'ilani at the coastline, Kapalua Resort is a natural wonderland of beauty, rich in history and culture. Its 22,000 acres (8,900 ha) are filled with lush valleys, verdant peaks, towering pines, lava rock promontories, picturesque bays and protected coral reefs. The resort has phased out it's agricultural focus an no longer focuses on diversified farming or growing pineapple. The Kapalua Bay and Vilas are part of the resort.

Kapalua is close to Lahaina, where you will find many adventures including a Pacific Whale Foundation Excursions from Lahaina Harbor, a Lahaina Molokini Snorkeling tour, a West Maui Sportfishing experience, or a Lahaina Whale Watch, snorkeling cruise, or snuba diving venture, you'll find these and other West Maui activities available at Lahaina Harbor.
